Vani Venkatesh is an engineer by training but passionate about Yoga and Music. Vani is a certified Yoga teacher from S-VYASA (Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana), Bangalore, India. She has trained and coached hundreds of people in Yoga in Rastrothana Yoga Centre Bangalore for almost a decade. Conducted many camps and outreach program in the community to bring awareness about Yoga and its positive effects on body, mind and soul. Vani is an experienced yoga teacher with extensive knowledge and practical application of Yoga techniques. Combining yoga theory and practice like Breathing techniques, Asana, Pranayama, Meditation technique, Yoga Nidra, Cyclic Meditation which makes one to being in-tune with true nature, happiness and Bliss.

Graduated from T. N. Medical School in Mumbai. MBBS in 1962.

Master of Surgery (M.S) from Bombay University 1966

Surgical Residency at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville 1993.

Private practice in General Surgery in Nashville from 1993 to June 30, 2020..

Board member of Hindu Cultural Center of Tennessee (HCCT) 1997.

Chairman of the “Community Affairs Committee” of HCCT for seven years (2003 to 2009)

Vice President of “India Association of Nashville” (IAN) 1989.

Chairman of the Social action committee of IAN for three years, 1986-1989.

Chairman of the “Loaves and Fishes” homeless feeding organization for seven years (1989-

1996). Vice President of International Cultural Association of Nashville (ICAN) 1971.

 Board member of American Red Cross for nine years. Chairman of the Disaster Action committee of Red Cross for five years. We helped during hurricane Katrina (2005), Hurricane Gustav (2008), Nashville floods of May 2010, three tornadoes- Gallatin in 2006, Murfreesboro in 2009, and Lincoln County in 2014. We are still active Red cross volunteers.

President of the “Tennessee Association of International Physicians” (TAIP)2013.

Received “Frist Humanitarian Award” at Skyline Hospital 2014. Community Service Award. November 2016 from Gujarat Association of Middle Tennessee (GAMT)Award for Humanitarian Work. August 2017 from India Association of Nashville.Award for Community Outreach work. Nashville Gurdwara October 2017. My wife and I received the “Sage” award in 2018. The Council on Aging gives this award to seniors who have significantly impacted the lives of older adults in Middle Tennessee.

President of the “Indian Community Seniors Support Services (ICSSS) for the past 12 years.

Presently I am a member of the IAN – Community Integration sub- committee.
