Health Station (Discussion on Diabetes, Hypertension, Medication Management & Coping with Stress) – Sunday Feb 2, 2020 at 1:10 pm – Sri Ganesha Temple
- Diabetes: A brief discussion on diabetes care for 15 minutes, followed by an opportunity for individual one on one interaction with a physician to answer personal questions for 45 minutes. There will be 2 sessions in each room, first starting at 1.10 P.M. and second at 2.10 P.M. We can accommodate 12 to 15 people in each session. We will have two Physicians speakers in each room. Dr. Deepender Bal and Dr. Shubhada Jagasia will lead this session.
- Hypertension: A brief discussion on hypertension for 15 minutes, followed by an opportunity for individual one on one interaction with a physician to answer personal questions for 45 minutes. There will be 2 sessions in each room, first starting at 1.10 P.M. and second at 2.10 P.M. We can accommodate 12 to 15 people in each session. We will have two physician speakers in each room. Blood pressure monitoring machines for checking blood pressure will be available at the station.
- Medication Management: We will provide information about use of devices to store and dispense medications for people using multiple medications. At this station we will discuss about various stratergies to ensure you take medications as directed. We will offer information on various drug discount cards and using mail order pharmacies. A 15 minute discussion will be followed by personal questions/answers for 45 minutes. There will be 2 session in each room, first starting at 1.10 P.M. and second at 2.10 P.M. We can accommodate 12 to 15 people in each room. Mr. Joseph Pandit an experienced Pharmacist to offer this session.
- Coping with Stress: “Stress” appears to be a term we hear in modern life more often than not. May it be in form of emotional, social, and financial. All of them requires a strong support system to face and handle life’s challenges. This forum hopes to offer such a support, by discussing various coping skills and offers resilience training to overcome these challenges.
You will get a chance to get your Blood Pressure checked. We will have several handouts on some of the common “Healthcare” topics. A list of Indian PCPs will be available.
