Title: Cyber Crime and Cyber Security & A Documentary by NPT.
by Salil Shibad & NPT
Cybersecurity is the art of protecting networks, devices, and data from unauthorized access or criminal use and the practice of ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information. It seems that everything relies on computers and the internet now—communication (e.g., email, smartphones, tablets), entertainment (e.g., interactive video games, social media, apps ), transportation (e.g., navigation systems), shopping (e.g., online shopping, credit cards), medicine (e.g., medical equipment, medical records), and the list goes on. How much of your daily life relies on technology? How much of your personal information is stored either on your own computer, smartphone, tablet, or on someone else’s system?
Salil Shibad Bio
Salil Shibad is almost a native of Nashville, having been here since the year 2000. He is the classic immigrant story, having come to the US in 1997 to San Francisco at the start of the dot-com boom. He has a bachelor’s in engineering from India and an Executive MBA from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University.
In a career spanning 25 years starting as a young programmer, Salil now works for a leading consulting company in public sector management that partners with health, education, and human services, primarily with Medicaid agencies and state governments, to improve the lives of its citizens.
Salil enjoys learning about and visiting places of historical significance and hiking in the mountains, including Manas Sarovar, the Colorado 14ers, Yosemite Half Dome, the bottom of the Grand Canyon, and, more recently, Machu Picchu in Peru.
Their family funds scholarships for college-bound high-school students from some of Nashville’s poorest neighborhoods and encourages the community to do so as well so we may alter the life trajectory of future generations. Salil lives in Brentwood with his wife, Sahana, two boys, and his mom Dr. Shaila Shibad.
