The challenges facing the Indian Community Seniors in the USA are numerous. When we first arrived in USA we were young, energetic and healthy. We were busy with our work and busy raising our family, and we thought we will never get sick, also we did not believe we will get old. In reality however, several of us have passed the age of 60 — and much more — and many more are reaching there rapidly. Some are sick with critical illnesses, some are mentally and physically disabled and some of our friends have even faced death. To add to the complexity, we have our parents, some staying temporarily for few months and some staying here permanently. Several have poor or no command of the English language, some do not have health insurance, most of them cannot drive and also they have limited social contacts with their peers.
